My Story
How I ended up focused on villas.
I was born in Denpasar in 1996. I grew up watching Bali shift from a domestic tourism island into a global destination. Big hotels entered, new villas appeared, Airbnb listings exploded · but local villa owners often lost the digital battle.
I started building websites in 2016. At first, generic · consumer brand landing pages, e-commerce, SaaS. Finish project, switch client, repeat.
In 2020 I built one villa project in Canggu. The owner told me: 'I paid Rp 180M to Airbnb last year. Commission only. Not counting ad spend.' That was the trigger.
I started studying the Bali villa industry seriously. Read industry reports, interviewed villa owners, audited competitors, audited OTA fee structures. 6 months later I withdrew from generic projects and focused 100% on villas.
5 years now. 20+ villas and brands shipped. Clients usually save Rp 150–300M/year in OTA commission within 12 months.
Dewata Tech stays small and curated · I personally cap us at 5 villa clients per quarter so strategy, architecture, and quality control stay in my hands.
